Welcome! Nice to meet you.

Being an expat is exciting and difficult. It’s an adventure and a challenge at the same time.

What do you love about being an expat?

Perhaps it's the sense of adventure. Being immersed in a completely new environment. Discovering a different culture from within. Getting to know interesting people.

Or is it the challenge? Having career opportunities and responsibilities that you would not have had at home. Being pushed to be creative and deal with situations that you could never have imagined.

Maybe the sense of meaning. Contributing to something larger than yourself. Investing your energy, knowledge and skills in something worthwhile.

Working and living abroad means a period of intense personal growth and development. It can give you a sense of fulfillment and achievement that you never experienced before. It can enrich you as a person – as well as your family that may be joining you.

Right now, the sense of adventure seems far away.

You haven’t been your usual self for a while. You are nervous, pressured, impatient, irritable, restless. Or lacking in energy, worn out, generally low.

It has become too difficult to juggle all your responsibilities. Maybe you feel trapped in your job or in your relationship. Or you simply feel unhappy.

There is nothing wrong with you.

As an expat, you are facing some serious extra stress factors that others don’t have to deal with.

Most companies and organisations that post their staff abroad take care of the practical issues. They organise your move, help you find a house and a school for your children.

But for the inevitable psychological challenges, you are often left to your own devices. Far away from friends and family. With limited professional help near you; let alone someone who understands your situation.

Getting in touch with Steve was not an easy decision for me. I was wondering, do I really need to see a psychologist? But I knew deep down that I had lost myself.

With a bit of help, it is possible to flourish again.

I can be your coach and help you move forward.

What can I help you with?

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Career

  • Relationships and family issues

  • Work-life balance

  • And so much more…

Together, we will figure out how you got stuck, and proceed to understand and transform the psychological processes that led you to this situation.

We will shift the focus to the positive. We will reflect together on what is meaningful for you, now, in this moment of your life and career. You will see more clearly what to focus your energy on, and you can take concrete actions to move forward again.

We will work together in a structured way.

I am offering coaching programmes with a combination of:

  • Regular individual online sessions using Skype or other online video tools where we work towards solutions together.

  • Structured self-help modules with exercises, questionnaires and action plans you can use to make step-by-step progress.

  • Ongoing phone and email support so you have me by your side whenever you wish.

Throughout the programme, I appreciated the balance between the structured approach and the fact that there was enough space to discover myself. We took it step by step.
